360 Panorama reveals gyroscope support in iPhone 4 Safari browser

Occipital, the creators of the hugely popular ‘360 Panorama’ app for the iPhone, has discovered all-new gyroscope support in the Mobile Safari browser.

Gyroscope, in case you didn’t know, is a clever piece of technology used for measuring or maintaining orientation of a device. It is what allows apps like 360 Panorama to create a full 360 degree photograph of your surrounding using the iPhone camera.

Normally these photos could only be viewed within the app itself or from a PC web browser. But thanks to the latest iOS 4.2.1 update, users can now simply load up an automatically generated link to their creation on Safari and share it with others via Twitter or email. You can see it in action in the video demo below.

According to Occipital co-founder Vikas Reddy, 360 Panorama has been consistently the number one photography app in the App Store stateside and in 20 other countries. It's available right now on iTunes for just 59p.
