A keen-eyed tech fan has spotted what might either be a total coincidence or a deliberate hint from Cupertino as to when it will finally lift the lid on its fifth-generation iPhone.
German tech blogger Florian is claiming that Apple has updated the screenshot of the iPhone on the Apple Store website, which curiously displays a new date on the calendar icon: 6. The theory is that the iPhone 4 was unveiled on June 7th last year, which was a Monday and the June 6th is also a Monday (and me birthday, too, no less), so there might be a connection. By that I mean just the dates, obviously.
Meanwhile, Apple Insider discovered that the Moscone West convention centre in San Francisco has been booked for a “Corporate Meeting" on June 5th that runs through to the 9th. Apple has traditionally held its annual worldwide developers conference there, making it all the more likely that it’s gearing up for the launch of the iPhone 5.
These are theories, of course. So don’t bet on them just yet. We’ll be sure to bring you more news regarding the iPhone 5 as we have it.
