Anticipation for Apple’s iPhone 5 continues to mount amid reports US network AT&T is clearing its schedules for an imminent launch next month.
According to an inside source cited by BGR, the carrier has initiated an ‘all hands on deck’ preparation for a launch during the third or fourth week of September through to mid-October.
Another source claims AT&T has rescheduled a large training event from early October as it conflicts with a “huge announcement”, which the smart money says can only be the launch of a new iPhone.
The timeframe firmly puts the as-yet unofficial iPhone 5 release date in line with fresh reports that Apple will officially unveil the handset on September 12th followed by a release on September 21st.
Although details are still few and far between, rumours suggest the iPhone 5 will be taller and slimmer than its predecessors, featuring a four-inch display, a quad-core processor and an enhanced eight-megapixel snapper.
Also expected to be on board are NFC and 4G support, a mini dock connector and possibly wireless charging capabilities.
