Event invites for the imminent unveiling of the iPhone 5 are likely to be sent out starting September 5th, a new theory suggests.
Apple typically summons the press via email a week before it pulls the curtain on a new iPhone. The good folk over at Product Reviews posit that going by the assumption the same will happen this year, and that the rumoured September 12th date is really the date the iPhone 5 will be debuted, the invitations this time around should be circulated on September 5th.
Okay, so it’s probably not the most exciting iPhone 5 theory/rumour you’ve come across, but consider this: Apple often slips in clues in invites as to what it might showcase, which, for us at least, is exciting.
Last year, it was simply four icons and the caption: ‘Let’s talk iPhone’, which, as you’ve probably guessed, was a nod to Siri. Perhaps this time it will be about Near Field Communications (NFC) or 4G LTE, which are two of the more prominent improvements the iPhone 5 is expected to bring.
Other features mooted to be on board include a larger, four-inch display, a quad-core processor and an improved eight-megapixel snapper. Also, as countless leaks suggest, it’s likely to be taller and slimmer, too.
The rumoured release date for the iPhone 5 is September 21st. Keep ‘em peeled for our full coverage of developments in the days to come.
