Posted by Japanese parts retailer Moumantai, the snaps reveal what appears to be a gold or bronze and a gray nano SIM card tray for Apple’s seventh-generation smartphone – widely dubbed the iPhone 5S.
The shape of the SIM tray looks almost identical to that of the iPhone 5, which suggests that the handset is unlikely to change much in the way of size or design and is probably an iterative update over the current model, much like the iPhone 4S.
The colours presumably suggest indicate that the next iPhone could come in more than the traditional black and white colour options. Speculation has been rife in recent months that Apple is prepping up to six different variants of the handset, which is rumoured to land sometime in summer.
However, this is more likely to be the hotly tipped low-cost version the iGiant is said to be readying in a bid to challenge the influx of cheap Android mobiles.
Although details are very much unofficial right now, the budget iPhone is expected to retain the iPhone 5’s four-inch Retina display, but recycle other parts, namely the camera and processor, from older models.
