WWDC keynote: Apple plotting new hardware

Apple has revealed that the keynote speech at its Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) will be held at 10am Pacific Time (6pm BST) on June 2nd.

While the specific timing now means hype about this year’s bash should focus minds on new iOS and OS X features, one other, more exciting tidbit should whip Apple fans into a real frenzy.

See, 9to5mac says it’s heard from sources that Apple is planning to unveil hardware at this year’s event. No more details have been revealed.

While that could mean a new Apple TV or MacBook, there’s also every chance it could mean the much rumoured iWatch is incoming.

Apple may wish to tease its new product category, much as it did with the iPad and original iPhone, giving developers a chance to play with it and work out options for iWatch-friendly apps.

All will be revealed in just ten days time. If it’s an iWatch, expect a full scale meltdown across the web.
