iPhone sales set to stop 39 million in three months to June

iPhone sales set to stop 39 million in three months to June

Apple looks on course to smash its sales record for the April-June quarter, with analysts predicting the Cupertino company will shift over 39 million devices in the three-month period.

Katy Hubert from Morgan Stanley has used research from IDC and Google ads to reach that figure. Her forecast is higher than the average of 35 million being predicted by financial institutions in the United States.

Either sales figure would break Apple’s April-June record, which was set last year when it sold 31.2 million iPhones.

This year’s increase is said to be down to the launch of the 8GB iPhone 5C, as well as Apple pushing the cheaper, plastic iPhone harder across its key markets.

Apple’s official stats will be revealed at the start of July.

Traditionally, iPhone sales tend to dip in the summer as a new launch approaches. It’s expected to reveal its new iPhone 6 models in September, with two variants believed to be in the works.
