Apple has sent out press invites to a special event being held on October 16th at its Cupertino offices, with the gathering almost certain to see the launch of a new iPad Air, rejigged iPad minis and a new MacBook.
The invite simply reads ‘It’s been way too long’, seemingly in reference to the new laptop that Apple is planning on unveiling. Word is a 12–inch model is in the offing.
In terms of new iPads, Apple is expected to out a trim new iPad Air. A new leak has shown off an even slimmer model than last time round, measuring just 7mm.
Touch ID biometric security and new volume keys are also thought to be present and correct.
It is unlikely Apple will unveil the much-mooted larger iPad Pro model, though. The 13–inch tablet is not expected to debut until well into 2015.
Apple will hopefully also address growing concerns surrounding its iOS 8 platform, which has suffered from a series of issues in recent weeks.
The company has already seeded a new beta version to developers as it looks to fix the operating system's myriad problems.
