Apple will offer a trio of updated iPhones in 2019 featuring the same screen sizes as its recently launched new smartphones.
Ming Chi Kuo, an analyst known for getting his Apple predictions spot on, has produced a new investor note in which he claims Apple will release 5.8–inch, 6.5–inch and 6.1–inch iPhones.
The latter will be an updated version of the iPhone XR, which goes on pre–order from Friday 19th October.
The 5.8–inch model will be an updated take on the well received iPhone XS, with the largest 6.5–inch device being a new take on the iPhone XS Max.
This suggests Apple is not looking to revamp its lineup again next year, perhaps in a bid to ensure consumers don’t become overly confused about an ever-changing range of iPhones.
It’s not yet clear if the next–generation iPhone XR will make the jump to OLED screen tech, or if Apple all retain LCD to keep costs down.
The iPhone XS Max is said to be the bestselling of Apple’s new handsets, although the iPhone XR, which starts at £749 SIM free, is widely expected to become the must–have iPhone when it hits shelves later this month.
