Be Broadband has been named the Best Consumer Fixed Broadband provider at the 2011 Internet Service Providers Association (ISPA) awards.

The broadband provider, the sibling firm of O2, held on to the title it won in 2010, after another successful 12 months in business.

According to the judges, Be Broadband deserved the award as a result of its policy on traffic management, clear pricing structure, transparency and flexibility of deal costs.

Be Broadband - a prominent advocate of unfiltered, unfettered internet services - recently announced plans to launch fibre broadband services with an unlimited data allowance.

The firm said it is looking to introduce the best fibre broadband deals on the market, although consumers may be required to pay a premium for unrestricted downloads.

Other major winners at the 2011 ISPA awards were KC, which triumphed in the Best Consumer Customer Service category, and Three, which was named Best Mobile Broadband Provider.

When is U switch gonna compare broadband on the basis of the speeds actually available and received by customers; instead of blindly comparing all the 'up to' nonsense that most suppliers claim to squeeze down a copper wire.
