Three customers are now able to get their hands on a new high-speed mobile Wi-Fi device – the Huawei E586 Mi-Fi.
The model is the first Mi-Fi device to feature next generation HSPA+ mobile broadband technology in the UK.
Subscribers can benefit from significant speed improvements, with the Huawei E586 able to support downloads up to 50 times faster than those previously available.
As Three carries out network upgrade work, Mi-Fi broadband speeds are set to increase even further.
The broadband provider said the E586 Mi-Fi provides fast, secure Wi-Fi for tablets, laptops and handheld games consoles at the touch of a button.
David Kerrigan, Head of Mobile Broadband at Three, commented: "As the network operator leading the way with a nationwide HSPA+ network upgrade, we're delighted to be bringing the first mobile Wi-Fi device with HSPA+ technology to the UK.
"People will be able to enjoy speeds of up to 5.9Mb, allowing faster downloads, seamless browsing and an all-round improved experience.”
Mi-Fi users are able to create their own personal wireless broadband hotspots as they move, and connect up to five web-enabled devices to the internet.
Consumers have a choice between pay monthly and pay-as-you-go Mi-Fi plans.
