TalkTalk news

The appeal of TalkTalk TV has been boosted by the launch of new high definition channels from the BBC and Al Jazeera, it has been claimed.

Henrik Karlberg, Head of Pay TV at the television, home phone and broadband provider, explained that TalkTalk's HD line-up is "growing", giving viewers a wider range of options.

He explained that around half of all UK households gained access to HD versions of BBC Three, BBC Four, BBC News, CBBC and CBeebies this week; a figure which should rise to 70 per cent by mid-2014.

"The move means viewers will soon be able to watch hundreds of hours of great content in HD, like 'Russell Howard’s Good News' and 'Him & Her' on BBC Three, and arts and science programming on BBC Four," Mr Karlberg stated.

He added that Al Jazeera HD - as a respected news channel - is another "great addition" to the TalkTalk TV platform.

"It's great that broadcasters are investing in subscription-free HD broadcasting," Mr Karlberg added.

"TalkTalk TV customers can also access free HD catch up content in the BBC’s iPlayer, and choose from a selection of HD movies on-demand from the TalkTalk Box Office and Sky Movies."
