Sky makes network improvements
Posted 23rd October 2008 at 12:00pm by Alex Buttle
Sky is expected to improve the performance of its broadband network by employing the use of ASSIA's DSL Expresse Dynamic Spectrum Management platform.
The DSL Expresse, which has been used by other broadband providers, will monitor ADSL circuits, ultimately leading to better services for Sky's UK customers.
DSL Expresse allows quality-of-service management through advanced network performance diagnostics.
Chairman of ASSIA, John Cioffi, said: "The benefits of Dynamic Spectrum Management (DSM) technology are compelling for today's DSL services."
While director of Sky Network Services, Mohamed Hammady, commented: "We think Dynamic Spectrum Management tools have significant potential for use in our network and are part of our commitment to offer customers the best possible broadband experience."
Sky, which claims to be the fastest-growing broadband provider in Britain, will be the first company to implement the technology in UK networks
