Sky is currently the UK's fastest growing broadband provider, according to new figures.

Figures from the broadband internet provider show that over 163,000 new customers were added in the last quarter, more than any rival supplier.

This means the number of Sky Broadband subscribers is up to the 1.96 million mark.

Commenting on the figures, Broadband Choices Product Director, Michael Phillips, said that the TV services Sky packages with its broadband services could explained the provider's popularity.

He explained: "Sky offers very good value for anyone wanting a quality digital TV service bundled with their home broadband.

"Its Broadband Max package, which offers speeds of up to 16Mb for £10 a month is currently the UK's only truly unlimited broadband package, with no fair usage policy."

Sky is also marketing triple-play bundles, featuring telephone services as well as broadband and TV.
