Tiscali is losing broadband subscribers, according to the latest figures.

Recently released data shows that the number of Tiscali users dropped from 1,774,000 in the third quarter of 2008 to 1,768,000 in the fourth.

However, the company seems to have arrested the slide which saw it lose 64,000 customers from the second quarter to the third last year.

According to Broadband Genie, the statistics are indicative of the provider's current situation.

"Experiencing both a difficult financially spell and an uncertain future, the UK arm of the Italian-based communications company is currently struggling to find a buyer to save its failing business," was the assessment of the broadband comparison site.

Tiscali had been in negotiations with BSkyB over a possible buy-out, although the talks were recently reported to have ground to a halt.

the reason tiscali are losing customers, is because they dont think their customers are important enough, their customer services are deplorable. i myself have been trying to get a solution solved regarding promises made to me that i was getting a package that was to my satisfaction. false promises are made

There is no Customer Service at Tiscali only people who make promises and excuses. I am not at all suprised that they are losing customers. I am hanging on in there but I don't think that Tiscali deserve my custom.

After 3 months I finally gave up. Evening speeds now jumped from 200k to 4.5 mb and I got them to credit me back for the last 3 months non-service.
