Timico launches 16Mb ADSL service
Posted 5th May 2009 at 4:06pm by Ewan Taylor-Gibson
Provider Timico has launched its new 16Mb ADSL service following extensive customer trialling.
The group's new connection, which utilises the BT 21CN network, is primarily focused on the business market and is said to be ideal for high bandwith requirement products such as video conferencing and telephony.
While marketed as a 16Mb product, Timico claims that users may actually experience connection speeds of 19Mb and above.
Chief Technology Officer at Timico, Trefor Davies, commented: "We have been careful not to rush too quickly into using the BT 21CN network.
"We felt it was important to make sure that the customer experience matched our own business quality requirements."
Mr Davies added that the trial connections had given the provider "more of a feel" for the network's overall capabilities.
Research published by Forrester Research last month revealed that mobile broadband connections are becoming increasingly popular as more consumers begin using laptops.
