Satellite broadband provider Avanti Communications has revealed it enjoyed pre-tax profits of £1.8 million in the year to June 30th.
The company, which offers its services to telecom companies that then supply to both home and business broadband customers, also enjoyed distribution network growth over the period analysed.
It added that the 12 months highlighted the growing importance of broadband to both customers and governments, which means there is a potentially increasing market for the firm.
John Brackenbury, Chairman of Avanti Communications, said the upcoming launch of its new super-fast broadband satellite HYLAS which will be used to deliver internet, data and TV services across Europe - could boost the company further.
"We hope and expect that Avanti will become one of the world's most exciting telecommunications businesses a pioneer, a market leader and a British national champion," he added.
