A UK-based satellite broadband firm is celebrating after surpassing its target for recruiting internet service providers.
Avanti Communications has announced that its latest three contract wins have taken it above its aim of linking with 50 firms before the launch of its HYLAS satellite.
The latest companies to sign up to the service are Insis System Engineering, EnergoData and Broadsat Srl.
David Williams, Chief Executive of Avanti, said the company now has satellite broadband service providers in 13 countries.
He added: "With the achievement today of a major distribution milestone we therefore now have full confidence that we are also rapidly removing commercial risks.
"It is also pleasing to recruit customers specialising in new niche industrial applications for satellite broadband, in addition to our existing strength in the consumer market."
Avanti recently announced that its pre-tax profits of £1.8 million for the 12 months to June 30th were well ahead of expectations.
