Satellite broadband getting cheaper at last?
Posted 1st September 2009 at 12:15pm by Jonathan Leggett
Ruinous set-up costs have traditionally meant that satellite broadband remains out of the reach of most consumers. However, as of today broadband provider Avonline has reduced its price for hardware, installation and activation by a whopping £100. That brings the cost down to £599.

Earlier this year, rival satellite broadband supplier Avanti told us in an exclusive interview that the costs associated with the service would dramatically reduce once the volume of customers increased.
Avonline’s announcement suggests that this forecast might be coming true already.
