Plusnet broadband deals upgraded

Plusnet has sweetened the appeal of its home broadband offerings with the launch of a brand new high-end product and a speed upgrade for its award-winning, gamer-focussed Pro deal.
As of today, the company has replaced its Unlimited deal with the Plusnet Premium package. Priced at £11.99 per month, and then either £15.99 or £19.99 depending on market area, Unlimited subscribers will be provided with a broadband connection of up to 20Mb.
The new broadband bundle also includes 80GB of usage per month, plus unlimited overnight usage, a free wireless router, free connection and around-the-clock customer support.
Meanwhile, the revamped Pro product will now entitle subscribers to an improved connection speed of 20Mb, as well as a higher usage limit of 20GB per month. Other selling points include an optional static IP address, free usage between midnight and 8am, 240 minutes of VoIP calls, 24/7 customer support and a free 4-port wireless router.
Customers who choose the Pro deal also benefit from low latency and ping – the delay that can impair the online gaming experience - to ensure their progress in games is determined exclusively by their own skills.
The broadband provider’s other major announcement is the introduction of free calls to 0845 and 0870 numbers for both its Talk Plans. This will not affect line rental which is to remain at £10.95 per month. Plusnet will also continue to offer its entry level Value product, with contract terms and connection speed of up to 8GB unchanged by the refresh.
Jessica McArdle, Marketing Manager at Top 10 Broadband, said: “Plusnet's upgrade to up to 20Mb on its Pro and newly released Premium products will be warmly welcomed by Plusnet's throng of gaming and video fans.”
Earlier this week, Orange and junior broadband supplier Zen also announced they are now able to offer speeds of up to 20Mb to their customers. A 20Mb service is already available from BT, Virgin Media, Be and O2.
