Broadband and digital TV provider Sky has confirmed its appointment of a new Managing Director.
Andrea Zappia, who is currently Vice-President of Sports Channels for Sky's Italian operations, is to take up the position where he will succeed Brian Sullivan at the start of next month.
His work will be particularly focused on sales, marketing and customer operations, while he will also consider client acquisition and retention in relation to the company's range of products.
Discussing the appointment, Sky Chief Executive Officer Jeremy Darroch said: "I am delighted to announce such a high-calibre appointment. Andrea will bring a wealth of experience and add further strength to the leadership team at Sky."
Sky recently confirmed that its forthcoming 3D digital TV service will be compatible with new sets from electronics manufacturers including Panasonic, Samsung and Sony.
The platform, which will be offered through the company's existing Sky+HD set-top boxes, is set to be launched later this year.
