Plusnet subscribers gain extra broadband capacity
Posted 11th February 2010 at 10:26am by Oliver Folkard
UK internet service provider Plusnet has lit all four segments of a new 622Mb central pipe, providing additional broadband capacity to many of its subscribers.
The firm carried out the upgrade work in order to cater for an expected increase in service demand over the coming months.
As a result, Plusnet 'up to' 8Mb ADSL broadband customers should benefit from enhanced service provision.
Bob Pullen, of the firm's customer support department, said the move was taken in view of an "almost guaranteed increase" in average web usage as 2010 progresses.
"Also worth a mention is the fact that the Olympic Winter Games start this week and a lot of people are likely to be watching online," he stated.
Plusnet was recently praised for the services offered by its £5.99 Value Broadband package at the 2009 Top 10 Broadband Awards.
