Sky adding Five HD to broadband TV deals
Posted 18th March 2010 at 2:26pm by Oliver Folkard
A high definition version of terrestrial channel Five will be made available through Sky's broadband TV deals later this year.
The broadband provider has revealed that Five HD will become the 42nd channel it offers to over two million Sky+HD subscribers when it is launched in July.
Five HD is set to carry a range of top content, including US dramas such as CSI and FlashForward, as well as live football coverage and soaps including Neighbours.
Hilary Perchard, Director of Product Management at Sky, said the announcement shows there has never been a better time for consumers to take up HD.
He added: "Sky remains committed to delivering customers the best HD service available, and this means continuing to launch high-quality channels right across the schedule."
Sky recently confirmed plans to make 50 HD channels available to its subscribers by Christmas this year.
ITV1 HD, Hallmark Channel HD and Sky Sports HD 4 will also launch on the platform in the coming months.
