TalkTalk offers broadband speed boost to current customers
Posted 5th March 2010 at 9:27am by Oliver Folkard
UK broadband provider TalkTalk has offered a boost to its current subscribers, by revealing that their services will be upgraded for free.
The firm is to move all customers onto a 24Mb speed profile over the next four months, increasing their downloading capabilities and improving the overall online experience.
As a result, subscribers will automatically receive the fastest speed supported by their line, at no extra payment on top of their existing monthly rate.
Tristian Clarke from TalkTalk commented: "We are all aware of the frustration that comes from a congested internet. Jittery iPlayer, slow gaming and even web pages take an age to load.
"At TalkTalk we have invested in our network to remove all backhaul congestion, the principle cause of slow internet speeds at peak times."
The broadband provider is currently investing £500 million in its network infrastructure in order to increase national coverage, which now stands at 85 per cent of the population.
