Virgin Media adds Film4 HD to broadband deals

The new high-definition (HD) Film4 channel is to be made exclusively available to Virgin Media customers, it has been announced.
Channel 4 has agreed a deal with the provider which will see the Film4 HD service debut on the broadband provider's digital TV service in the summer.
In addition, subscribers to Virgin Media's broadband TV deals will also be able to enjoy the new E4 HD channel from April.
Cindy Rose, Executive Director of Digital Entertainment at Virgin Media, said: "Channel 4 has a great track record in delivering innovative and compelling content and were delighted to bring some of their very best films and most popular programmes to our customers in stunning HD."
Virgin Media recently confirmed its intention to launch a new 100Mb broadband service in the UK before the end of this year.
The technology is set to offer broadband connections which are more than 24 times the average speed available from rivals.
