ISP TalkTalk increases line rental costs
Posted 11th August 2010 at 8:59am by Ewan Taylor-Gibson
Broadband internet provider TalkTalk has announced plans to up the cost of its line rental.
The firm will increase its standard monthly line rental fee by 55p from £11.49 to £12.04 as of October 1st.
TalkTalk's decision to increase the cost of line rental - a move which is likely to impact on the number of people subscribing to the company's broadband bundles - comes after BT Retail announced it was planning to hike its line rental charge by 50p in October.
Also increasing is the connection fee for chargeable phone calls, which will rise from 9.9p to 10.9p per call, and TalkTalk's standard international rates, unless they are included in a customer's landline and broadband internet bundle.
Existing TalkTalk broadband customers will be informed of the price increase in their next monthly bill.
The internet service provider recently extended the free connection offer on its Essentials and Pro home phone and broadband bundles.
