*The "up to" speed displayed in Mb is the maximum possible speed you are likely to receive for this product. The actual speed you will get depends on your cabling, your area and (with non-fibre optic products) time of day and how far you are from the telephone exchange. Most providers will tell you the likely speed you will receive when you begin your online sign up - this may differ from the speed displayed in the table.

The deals available at your postcode are subject to local availability. The provider will confirm availability for your line.

We aim to take the strain out of broadband comparison. Good broadband deals aren't just about the price, it's also about what's included in the product, the speeds offered and any extra incentives providers are offering. To balance all of these, we have developed a ranking formula that takes into account deals that are proving to be popular with our customers, that are competitive in the market and have a smooth switching process.

If you prefer, you can sort deals by the average monthly cost, which is all of the costs - including any compulsory upfront costs such as router delivery or installation fee - divided by the length of the contract. Or you can sort by the total contract cost for all packages which let’s you see the total spend for the whole contract period

uSwitch services are provided at no cost to you, but we may receive a commission from the companies we refer you to.

Broadband deals explained

Looking for broadband without fibre? We've got you covered.

What is fibre broadband?

There are three main types of broadband:

  • 1. ADSL broadband: ADSL is the most common type of connection available. It runs through your phone line and requires minimal — if any — installation to get up and running.
  • 2. Fibre broadband: Sometimes called cable broadband, fibre broadband runs over fibre-optic cables instead of the copper wires in your phone line. While this leads to faster speeds, installation can be expensive, and you might not be able to get the highest speeds possible, depending on your location.
  • 3. Mobile broadband: When you use mobile broadband, you connect to the internet through the same mobile networks your smartphone uses. This does give you anywhere connectivity, as long as there's a signal, but speeds are highly variable, depending on your location.

Should I get fibre broadband?

If you're a heavy internet user who streams a lot of media, downloads a huge amount of data or plays a lot of games online, you'll probably want cable broadband for its higher speeds.

In that case, compare fast broadband deals now.

On the other hand, if you're a light internet user and just browse social media, read the news or stream media occasionally, you probably don't need cable broadband and will still be able to do everything you want to online with slower — and cheaper — ADSL speeds.

What broadband providers don't offer fibre?
