So you’ve got yourself an Apple Mac and you want to get connected to broadband internet. Are all providers compatible? Do you need any extra software? Well here at Top 10 Broadband we aim to resolve your queries.

In theory all providers should be compatible with Apple Mac’s however some providers take more effort for Mac users. The broadband itself is no problem; however a Mac compatible modem or wireless router is required. It is recommended that Mac users use an Ethernet modem router or a wireless modem router, as apposed to a USB device, as getting the right USB device for Macs can be difficult. Not all providers supply this within their packages; however it is possible to purchase them elsewhere.

More importantly some broadband providers are unable to give customer support for Mac users, however more ISPs are trying to resolve this situation. Tiscali is an example of this, as although Macs are compatible with broadband, Tiscali does not support them.

In contrast BT Total Broadband was voted the number one Internet Service Provider (ISP) of the year in the annual MacUser awards 2006.
