Landlords intending to let properties to student have been reminded that broadband is an attractive proposition to students looking for a place to rent.

The Residential Landlords Association (RLA) has pointed out that a speedy internet connection can be most desirable to university attendees living away from home and that landlords should consider investing in the provision.

According to RLA director Alan Ward: "Different markets will have different requirements - students will want broadband and Sky and you might rent the property more easily to them if it is already included."

Natwest recently launched an offer aimed at students in the UK, allowing those to take out a mobile broadband contract with provider 3 the chance to enjoy the service at £5 per month.

Additional offers from 3, such as the bonus of a free dongle, will still be able to be taken advantage of, Natwest has reassured students.
