For those broadband users who only anticipate using mobile broadband services on an infrequent basis, one reviewer has highlighted 3's no contract costs offer.

The mobile broadband provider is offering customers a USB modem stick for £50, with a 1GB data allowance costing £10 per month on an ad hoc basis.

According to Ben Sills of technology news provider Electric Pig, this offer is suitable for those who are put off mobile broadband by the long-term contracts often required for many packages.

"If you love the sound of mobile broadband, but know you wouldn’t quite use it enough to justify getting locked into a 24 month contract, 3's Pays As You Go option is your best bet," he said.

Adding: "Perfect if you have to make the occasional road trip for work."

Earlier in the year, the Huawei D100 router was released, allowing 3 mobile broadband users to share their connection with other users.
