Virgin Media and Be Broadband were the winners in the download and upload tables recently published by broadband.co.uk.
While Virgin Media scooped the title of fastest download speed, with an average score of 6.127Mb in testing, O2's Be Broadband claimed the upload honours with a respectable score of 0.755Mb.
Virgin Media's download score was enough to beat runner-up O2, which registered 5.735Mb, followed by Sky with 3.519Mb.
The provider was also hot on the heels of Be Broadband in the upload stakes recording an average of 0.507Mb to take second place, while TalkTalk came third thanks to a score of 0.419Mb.
Walking away with the wooden spoon in both categories was AOL, which averaged out at 2.150Mb for downloads and 0.305Mb for uploads.
Virgin Media has now been named as the country's fastest broadband provider for six months in a row.
