British business can grow with investment into high-speed broadband, according to a representative of one price comparison website.
Michael Phillips, Product Director at Broadband Choices, has highlighted the advantages of having super-fast connections, particularly to businesses looking to expand their operations.
He said: "If you're running a business, the cost of moving large chunks of data is still very prohibitive in terms of the costs and the timescale to actually make that transfer from point to point.
"Having a high-speed internet network which take larger transfers of data means we can work on larger projects and larger projects tend to have larger revenues attached to them."
The Caio Review of Barriers to Investment in Next Generation Access, published last year, concluded that there was no pressing need for government intervention into next-generation broadband development.
Since then, Lord Carter's Digital Britain report has put forward the idea of a universal service obligation, ensuring broadband access for all Brits.
