Laptop owners purchasing the new Sierra Wireless Compass 885 Mobile Broadband USB Modem may be happy with the device's performance, but less so with the size of the product.

That is the conclusion drawn by Trusted Reviews, which has highlighted the difficulty laptop users can have when attempting to plug into a USB socket.

According to the online magazine: "Although it's around the same length as the Huawei E160 used by the likes of Virgin Media and Orange for their mobile broadband services, it's slightly thicker which means it won't easily fit into USB ports that are slightly awkwardly placed."

The device was first offered by O2 as a Business USB Modem but can now be purchased and used with a number of networks.
