Many people in the UK are content with the service they receive from their broadband provider, new research has revealed.
According to a survey conducted for moneysupermarket.com, over 60 per cent are happy to miss out on potential savings because they don't want to switch to a different internet service provider (ISP).
However, the research also revealed that 78 per cent of those questioned said that they could be on a better deal.
Opinium Research carried out the study for the site and of the 2,010 UK adults polled, 11 per cent said that the main reason they haven't changed to a different ISP is because they can't be bothered. The study also indicated that 33 million people are not on the best deal available to them because they haven't shopped around.
Commenting on the findings, James Parker, Broadband and Mobiles Manager at moneysupermarket.com, noted that those who switch stand to save a considerable amount of money.
He said: "Our research has shown that those who had switched services in the last 12 months had saved almost £200 over that time - this makes a huge difference to the household wallet and could be used to pay for a treat for you and the family."
