Three news

A new gadget has been launched by 3 to offer flexible mobile broadband and wireless (Wi-Fi) connectivity to consumers.

The 3 Mobile Wi-Fi, known as Mi-Fi, allows a number of different devices to connect to the portable wireless modem at one time, meaning the 3G connection can be shared among friends within a ten-metre radius of the device.

According to 3, the Mi-Fi is "the future of internet access on the move" and will be the "perfect gift for people after genuine wireless internet access on the go".

The 3 Mi-Fi is available for £69.99 for the Broadband 5Gb one-month deal which offers 5Gb of data, with similar-sized upgrades available for £15.

Consumers are free to cancel this deal at any time or could sign up for the Mi-Fi 'Ready to Go' kit, which is available for an upfront cost of £99.99 and allows 3Gb of data to be used over a three-month period.

After this, the modem is then used on a pay-as-you-go basis.

Earlier this year, 3 offered up its mobile broadband dashboard for companies to advertise on.

The broadband provider predicted that its one million mobile broadband users would create over 30 million page impressions every month on the dashboard.
