Zen Internet has been named the UK's best broadband provider at a major awards ceremony.

The company was given the Best Internet Service Provider award at the PC Pro Awards 2009, which took place at London's Hurlingham Club.

According to the magazine, over 14,000 of its readers voted in the initiative, which looks to recognise businesses that have provided a high level of customer service and quality products.

Among the other winners, Memset was named the best web host, while Draytek took home the best wireless router prize.

The praise for Zen Internet has come after the company was also rated as recommended by IT publication PC Advisor, which gave it a customer satisfaction of 95.8 per cent.

According to the magazine, the broadband provider has emerged as "one of the shining lights" in the industry, while it was also one of three firms to have been praised for its connection speeds.
