Internet service provider (ISP) Be Broadband has announced the introduction of a new line bonding service, which is designed to offer faster download speeds.

The broadband provider is now providing up to 44Mb downloads and 5Mb uploads to customers with two BT phone lines, doubling the speed of their connection.

Be's latest offer includes a static IP address and an unlimited monthly data allowance for consumers signing up on a 12-month contract.

"Fancy having one of the UK's fastest broadband connections? By bonding two lines at the exchange you can combine their speed," the ISP explained.

"You might live some distance from your exchange so line bonding will get you closer to the connection you've always dreamt of."

However, the broadband deal is costlier than others on offer from the broadband provider, at £65 per month with an £85 connection fee.

If consumers do not currently have a second phone line but wish to take advantage of this broadband deal, Be has urged them to check line availability at their local exchange.

Earlier this month, Be Broadband announced the launch of its new home phone and broadband bundles, as it moved away from being a standalone internet provider.
