Virgin Media news

Virgin Media is laying on a special fleet of supercar taxis in London today (Thursday October 28th) to celebrate the launch of 100Mb broadband.

Members of the public will be able flag down a Porsche 997 Turbo Gen 1, a Ferrari 430 F1 Coupe and or Aston Martin DBS and ride around the capital free of charge, as the internet service provider promotes its high-speed broadband offering in typically unconventional fashion.

The iconic yellow taxi light will be present on each of the three machines-for-hire, signalling passenger availability between 10:00 and 16:00.

Jon James, Executive Director of Broadband at Virgin Media, commented: "With the announcement of our new 100Mb service, we wanted to do something fun and iconic to celebrate.

"Our fleet of Ultrafast Taxis rolling out in London will provide commuters a bit of excitement to liven up their day and the opportunity to get a taste of life in the fast lane courtesy of Virgin Media."

Consumers living in streets with Virgin Media connectivity will be able to take advantage of the firm's super-fast broadband packages from December, the firm announced this week.
