Microwave network specialist Cambridge Broadband Networks has been named the sector's fastest growing larger company at this year's Cleantech Connect Awards.
Staged in London, the event recognises innovation and growth within clean and green technology - an area the company has excelled in during 2010.
Cambridge was praised for its development of its VectaStar point-to-multipoint backhaul solution, which has the potential to reduce energy consumption over mobile networks.
It is thought the technology could help mobile broadband providers to reduce costs and their carbon footprint over the coming years.
Graham Peel, Chief Executive Officer at Cambridge, commented: "The Cleantech Connect award has rounded off a tremendous year of growth, having recently been named in the Deloitte Fast50, TechTrack100 and a distinguished honoree at the Stevie Awards."
At present, the firm's products have been put into use by internet service providers and other telecoms operators across more than 30 countries worldwide.
