T-Mobile's new Wireless Pointer Mi-Fi-style dongle has an additional benefit for UK web users, according to one technology commentator.
Writing for Crave, the Cnet.co.uk blog, Asavin Wattanajantra explained that the device is designed to direct users to the best location for a 3G signal.
He noted that the mobile Wi-Fi gadget comes with a pointer which identifies 3G sweet spots, "just like a divining rod twitches towards a source of water".
"These sorts of gadgets are always a good option if you think you're likely to have more than one device you need to be connected to the internet, and you're often on the move," Mr Wattanajantra commented.
He noted that T-Mobile will be offering the device at a range of price points, from free on a 24-month contract to £60 on a pay-per-use basis.
Mr Wattanajantra told prospective buyers that they will be able to browse for five hours before needing to recharge.
