Christmas and New Year have quickly come and gone, leaving consumers in something of a post-celebration malaise.

However, one internet service provider (ISP) is attempting to lighten the mood with its latest attractive broadband deal - free connection for subscribers on its two flagship packages.

TalkTalk can always be relied upon to give something back to the consumers, and this latest, limited-time offer provides instant savings of £29.99.

To put this into perspective, this sum is the equivalent of four months free broadband and home phone services for TalkTalk essentials customers, or two months free for those signing up to TalkTalk Plus.

Consumers are being offered the chance of a free connection on both broadband packages up until January 9th – meaning they will have to make their minds up quickly in order to take advantage.

Both broadband bundles have their advantages, depending on the amount of internet and home phone use anticipated by the customer.

Those taking out TalkTalk Essentials gain access to high-speed broadband – basically the fastest downloads the ISP can provide in their area – plus a 40GB monthly data allowance.

As a rough guide, this equates to downloading 55 films or 900 albums per month, meaning there is plenty of data for consumers to work with.

For £6.99 plus landline fee each month, subscribers also gain access to unlimited evening and weekend phone calls to UK landlines, unlimited calls to TalkTalk phones and ten per cent off calls to their top 16 mobile and international numbers.

TalkTalk Plus, which is also available with a free connection until January 9th, offers the added bonus of a free wireless broadband router, unlimited downloads, anti-virus software to work on three computers and unrestricted home phone use.

This broadband deal is available for a monthly fee of £14.99 plus landline fee.

However, sign up in the next five days and consumers will be able to cover their first two monthly bills with £29.99 set-up savings, helping to get 2011 off to the best possible start.
