TalkTalk has seen a "great response" from consumers seeking up to 80Mb fibre broadband deals, it has been claimed.
Charlotte Maxwell, Trading Director at TalkTalk, noted that many UK households have pre-registered for the new service, while others are already enjoying "some of the fastest broadband speeds around".
TalkTalk announced plans to double the download speeds available to its fibre customers from up to 40Mb to 80Mb in March, and the upgrade came into effect last month.
"Our new 80Mb super-fast fibre-optic broadband also offers unbeatable upstream speeds of up to 20Mb," Ms Maxwell explained.
"This will cut down the time it takes to upload a photo album in just seconds, making it great for those of you who like to share videos and photos with friends and family online."
And with download speeds of up to 80Mb, consumers can download a movie in around two minutes, a TV programme in around 30 seconds, and an album in just ten seconds, she added.
This makes TalkTalk fibre broadband services "perfect for heavy downloaders or busy households", Ms Maxwell added.
"To find out if you can benefit from super-fast broadband speeds just visit talltalk.co.uk/fibre and enter your phone number," she urged.
"We’re continuing to roll out our fibre-optic broadband to more of the country and if it is not yet available in your area, register your interest and we'll get in touch once it arrives."
TalkTalk's 80Mb product costs an additional £15 per month on top of the current Essentials or Plus package price, while 40Mb downloads are available for an extra £10 per month.
There is also a one off £30 activation fee for the service, which includes an engineer visit.
