Concerns have been raised over delays to the rollout of super-fast broadband throughout the Highlands and Islands.
While a deal between Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) and BT was meant to have been signed last year, there have been difficulties finalising the contractual terms.
And as such, many homes and businesses across northern Scotland are continuing to suffer from slow broadband - or no connection whatsoever.
Bute MP Alan Reid said it is "vitally important" that progress is made on the broadband rollout as soon as possible.
“The UK government gave Highlands & Islands Enterprise money for broadband infrastructure two and a half years ago," he told the Buteman.
"It’s high time they spent it to bring broadband to those communities without it."
Mr Reid said he had asked for an explanation from HIE over the delays and asked them to "pull out all the stops" to get work started as quickly as possible
