Sky is set to add a number of smash-hit series to its TV Box Set collection this autumn.

Entertainment Extra+ subscribers will able to watch Emmy, Bafta and Golden Globe-winning shows such as The Wire, Game of Thrones and The Sopranos via the on-demand service.

They will be able to choose when and where to watch the popular series - either on their main TV set via a Sky+HD box, or on selected mobile devices via Sky Go.

Sky Entertainment Extra+ customers can look forward to almost one hundred series of TV box sets joining the service this autumn.

Game of Thrones (series 1-2) and Mad Men (series 1-3) will be available from October 1st, with The Wire (series 1-5) following on November 1st and The Sopranos (series 1-6) on December 1st.

Other popular box sets to become available include Boardwalk Empire, Hannibal, Seinfeld, Friday Night Lights, I’m Alan Partridge, An Idiot Abroad and Extras.

Luke Bradley-Jones, Sky’s Brand Director of TV Products, said the firm "knows how important it is for customers to have the flexibility to watch the shows everyone is talking about when it suits them".

"That’s why this autumn we are introducing more TV series to our TV Box Set service, to ensure we have box sets of the latest and greatest shows ready for customers to catch up on whenever they want," he stated.

“So whether you missed out on the moves of McNulty in The Wire first time around, or just want some pure escapism by indulging on the complete series of Mad Men, you’ll find it on your Sky+ box, ready for you whenever you are."

Mr Bradley-Jones said all Sky+HD customers can enjoy everything that on-demand has to offer by simply connecting their set-top box to broadband.

"And the great news is that it’s easy to get set up, thanks to our nifty wireless connectors," he added.
