A new update to the Sky+HD box allows viewers to search by title, actor, event, channel, sport or any keyword, helping them to find the content they are looking for.
Already available on the Sky+ app, the update gives Sky+HD viewers additional functionality, allowing them to conduct faster searches, locate content when they cannot remember the exact title, and receive results from both the live and on-demand schedules.
Luke Bradley-Jones, Brand Director for TV Products at Sky, said the enhanced Search function makes it easier for viewers to find the shows and movies they love, and discover new titles in "an intuitive and faster way".
"We know that Sky+ is used by customers millions of times a day to record anything and everything," he stated.
"With hundreds of TV channels, the UK’s biggest Catch Up TV service, a growing collection of TV box sets and thousands of movies to rent from Sky Store, we know it can sometimes be hard to find exactly what you’re looking for."
Mr Bradley-Jones said the new Search feature means viewers can find films or TV shows even if they only know the actor’s name.
To receive the software update and enhanced search, Sky customers need to connect their Sky+HD box to their home broadband.
Viewers who do not connect their Sky+HD box to their broadband connection will only have basic search functionality, which requires searching by exact programme title.
