TalkTalk is testing the water with a sweetened, very time-limited deal on its triple play TV, broadband and home phone packages, as it bids to boost take-up for its YouView-based TV service.
From today (Monday Feb 3rd) until 12pm tomorrow (Tuesday Feb 4th), new and existing customers who sign up for the Essentials TV or Plus TV broadband bundles qualify for a £70 Love2Shop gift card.
That’s on top of the existing deal sweeteners on both packages, which take in a free YouView box, free installation and free wireless router.
Priced £7.50 per month (plus line rental), the Essentials TV bundle includes the entry-level YouView box (normally priced £149) with catch-up, on-demand and Freeview TV, plus the option to rewind and pause live TV.
Subscribers can also expect a broadband connect of up to 16Mbps, unlimited downloads and free weekend and evening calls.
Choose the Plus TV package priced £15.50 per month and you get a higher-end YouView box (normally priced £299), which offers the same functionality as the cheaper model but is also a PVR (personal video recorder) with room to record 200+ hours of TV.
A broadband connection of 16Mbps is also provided, plus unlimited downloads and free anytime calls.
TalkTalk YouView TV customers on either package can add extra channels to their bundle in the form of TalkTalk’s TV boosts and can subscribe to specialist Sky sports and movie channels for an extra monthly charge.
