EE has been named the number one mobile network in the UK, following independent testing from RootMetrics.
The company, which collected over 840,000 test samples across the four major mobile broadband provider networks, ranked EE number one across all major network performance categories.
EE was found to outperform Vodafone, O2 and Three on network reliability, speed, mobile internet performance and overall network performance, while also being the best voice and text provider.
As such, the service provider took the top spot overall in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland, and was joint top in Wales.
Olaf Swantee, Chief Executive at EE, welcomed the RootMetrics report, saying the results show that the EE network "gives customers everywhere in the UK the best mobile experience".
"This is down to our ongoing investment in introducing 4G, increasing 3G capacity and upgrading 2G," he claimed.
"We encourage the most rigorous independent testing of mobile networks in the UK, and strive to set new standards in performance and reliability."
As of this week, EE offers 4G mobile broadband coverage to 70 per cent of the population, across 175 connected towns and cities.
