Direct Save Telecom is offering customers the chance to take up what it says is the UK's cheapest line rental, when they pay 12 months in advance,
By paying a year upfront, line rental is available from just £11 a month, compared with the usual price of £16.75, which is lower than the two other cheapest upfront line rental providers in the UK.
Currently, the Post Office offers the next best price of £12 a month upfront, while Plusnet line rental is £12.99 a month when customers pay a year in advance.
When added to Direct Save Telecom's's £1.95 unlimited broadband deal, the £11 advanced line-rental offers "easily the cheapest deal around", according to Stavros Tsolakis, the firm's CEO.
"There are no hidden gimmicks or price jumps; we are not pretending it is free, we are just offering customers the chance to pay a lot less for their broadband," he explained.
In order to benefit from Direct Save’s £1.95 unlimited broadband deal, which offers speeds of 17Mb with no usage cap and includes free evening and weekend calls, customers must sign-up to a 24-month contract.
If customers agree to the advanced line-rental offer they only pay £189.30 in the first year, or £344.70 over the two years of their contract.
Those signing up pay an initial set-up charge of £33.90, but also receive a discount card with a value of £50.
