EE news

EE remains the fastest mobile broadband provider in the UK, based upon the latest Ofcom research findings.

The media regulator - which carried out 3G and 4G tests across Edinburgh, Leeds, London, Newcastle and Poole/Bournemouth - found that EE achieved average download speeds of 18.6Mb.

Vodafone was the second-best performer with 16.4Mb, ahead of O2 (13.9Mb) and Three (8.5Mb).

Across all networks, the average speed recorded was 14.7Mb.

EE delivered 4G download speeds faster than 2Mb in 99.8 per cent of test samples, compared to 98.7 per cent for Vodafone, 98.1 per cent for O2 and 89.9 per cent for Three.

However, when it came to 3G mobile broadband speeds, EE was found to lag behind its rivals.

Vodafone proved to be the top performer with a 7.6Mb average, followed by O2 (6.6Mb), Three (5.4Mb) and EE (4.0Mb).

The average 3G connection across all networks delivered download speeds of 5.9Mb.
