Energy company SSE is now offering two years' free internet services to consumers signing up for its unlimited broadband deals.

The offer applies to the SSE Everyday Broadband + Talk Weekend and SSE Everyday Broadband + Talk Anytime packages, which offer download speeds of up to 17Mb with no restrictions on data usage.

The broadband deals also come with a wireless router and free connection, along with inclusive calls to UK landlines.

SSE Everyday Broadband + Talk Weekend is ordinarily priced at £8 per month plus line rental, which is available for £12 per month.

This means subscribers can save £192 on their broadband bills over the first two years of their contract.

SSE Everyday Broadband + Talk Anytime - which allows customers to use their landline to make calls throughout the week - is usually priced at £28 per month in total.

This comprises £8 per month for unlimited broadband and £20 per month for line rental and anytime calls.

UK households can also make savings with SSE when they sign up for the firm's fibre broadband deals.

New customers can take advantage of a half-price discount for two years on SSE's super-fast broadband deals, which offer unlimited data, a free wireless router and free connection.

SSE Superfast Fibre + Talk Weekend costs £10 per month plus line rental for two years, rising to £20 per month plus line rental thereafter.

This means up to 38Mb subscribers can save £240 during the introductory contract period.

SSE Ultrafast Fibre + Talk Weekend - which offers speeds of up to 78Mb - costs £12.50 per month plus line rental for two years, rising to £25 per month plus line rental thereafter.

During the first two years, customers are able to save £300 on their broadband bills.
